Bell canada carried 17 percent malware - Symantec

symantecCanada ranks ninth as a spot targeted for malicious cyber activities, while at the top is the U.S. Next to Bell Canada, Shaw Communications came second with 16 percent malicious cyber activities recorded. According to Symantec, an anti-virus company, 17 percent of computer viruses, spams traffic and other unwanted cyber materials were transgferred into Canadian computers by Bell Canada durin second half of 2007.

Bell Canada’s spokesman,Jason Laszlo, refused to accept Symantec’s claim. “We flat-out refuse to accept these statistics as valid… And if Symantec is not able to properly substantiate these claims, we will demand that they withdraw and amend their findings.”
